Mr. Weinland says in at least one radio interview that he DOES NOT BELIEVE that GOD will send people to Hell as the place for unbelievers and the unrepentant will go. HE CANNOT FATHOM GOD to be capable of eternal punishments. He believes MAN SIMPLY DIES AND GOES TO THE GRAVE!! He evidently does not know the true character of the Living and True God, Whose justice is beyond our understanding. God Who opened the earth to swallow Korah and his family for coveting the position of the priests. Mr. W contradicts a LOT of words Jesus spoke on Hell, as well as the torment of "the rich man" who asked for a drop of water from Lazarus (the poor man). Throughout the New Test. God speaks clearly of weeping and gnashing of teeth; of being thrown into hellfire and brimstone along with the devil and demons. I would have been rejoicing in Mr. W's humble approach, but this alone disproves his claims. BEWARE: Mat 24:24 "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and SHALL SHOW GREAT SIGNS and wonders; insomuch that, if possible, they shall deceive the very elect." 2THESS. 2:9-10 "THE COMING OF THE LAWLESS ONE is according to the working of Satan, WITH ALL POWER, SIGNS, AND LYING WONDERS, AND WITH ALL UNRIGHTEOUS DECEPTION AMONG THOSE WHO PERISH, BECAUSE THEY DID NOT BELIEVE THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved." In the event 'signs and wonders' begin we must be aware that God does not contradict Himself. Jesus warned us of those who will be used of the devil to deceive with powers. Keep your eyes on Jesus ALONE.

Here is a reprint of a response that I wrote on <a href="http://ironwolf.dangerousgames.com/blog/archives/495" rel="nofollow">Ironwolf</a>.

Renton,

You discussed the following:

“I will just admire how even Ron Weinland’s followers are not above condemning skeptics to the lake of fire; I thought this was God’s job.”

“I’m not his follower. However, I think he makes a lot of sense. God will judge everyone, and those not found in the book of life will burn in the Lake of Fire. It’s there in Revelation for all to see. My point is simply this; IF Mr. Weinland truly IS God’s witness, and you reject him, chances are you’ll get a one-way ticket to the Lake of Fire express. Go read Revelation for yourself.”

I do not believe Ron Weinland is personally condemning anyone to the “lake of fire.” That is God’s job, not Weinland’s. If Weinland is a true witness of God and condemns his critics to death, then God must O.K. the deaths. Again, this is not up to Weinland, but God. A little over a year ago (December: Sermon 2006), Weinland petitioned God to start sounding the “Thunders.” God remained silent and did not allow the “Thunders” to begin, thus did not answer Weinland. If God does grant Weinland petition to put his “critics” to death, then we should only be dead for 1000 years, and then given a period of 100 years, to learn about God’s true ways. After the 100 years is up, we should be able to decide whether we reject or accept God’s beliefs.

I have always asked the question of why we can’t be free thinkers. If anyone gets to this point, why would anyone reject God or be in opposition towards him. We would know he exist and we would follow his rules and/or beliefs, because like the angels who did not rebel, they also had to make a decision of compliance and obedience. If they chose another path of their own thinking, then they would eventually be placed in a “lake of fire” or place of eternal confinement away from their creator.

I believe Weinland states that this is “The Great White Throne Judgment period” and this last for 100 years. According to Weinland, “everyone who has ever lived and died” will be resurrected at the beginning of this period and at the end of this period of time, God will have “Final Judgment.” This final judgment contains “the lake of fire” but this is “spiritual,” not physical for Satan and his angelic realm. God will place Satan and his demons in a place of confinement permanently, and they will never have any further contact with their creator. On the other hand, Weinland claims that his God will lay down “final judgment” for man.

Since, man was resurrected physical a 2nd time; he still remains a physical being, not a spiritual being. Thus, man can die a 2nd physical death and cease to exist, because God does not grant eternal life to everyone. Weinland describes this as “eternal punishment” because God decision is forever. There are some that will reject God and there “heart, mind, and attitude” will not reflect the values of the Creator. Thus, God does not grant the “gift of eternal life.” Again, God makes the decision to grant eternal life, not Weinland.

As per your statement that, if “Mr. Weinland truly IS God’s witness, and you reject him, chances are you’ll get a one-way ticket to the Lake of Fire express. Go read Revelation for yourself.” If God grants Weinland petition, then we would die, but have we really rejected him. We do not even know God. How can we reject something that we don’t know? I don’t believe that we commit the “unpardonable sin” as Armstrong and Weinland have taught, if we are “critics” of Weinland. Scripture also tells us to “test” those who prophesize in God’s name. How else can you “test” a true prophet, unless you ask questions and “tests” the prophets words and actions? The way I have read scripture is that Christ and God expected us to be “critics” because there would be many who prophesized in God’s name, but would be false.

Then again, the skeptic in me tells me, that the “literal words of the scriptures and their meanings” have been distorted in some manner long ago, when the scribes did various transcriptions of all of the ancient scriptural texts in the first few centuries after Christ died. There were numerous errors that were made as these scriptures were copied year after year. Humans are not perfect in transcribing written materials. These texts were copied letter by letter and there were textual errors. Can we strongly and convincingly say that we have the intended meaning of those human authors who wrote the scriptures that we have today? There is much “textual criticism” over ancient and early New Testament texts.
